But the matte surface on the back of this one doesn’t seem to make the phone easier to hold, it makes it harder. I feel like the phone actually slides out of my hand considerably easier on the 3 XL case.

I’ve done a side by side comparison with my 2 XL and Spigen’s thin fit case without that matte surface. I wish they would just make a version of this case like the previous models.

I’ve been handing my phones around to people and asking them to tell me what’s different and every single person points out how slippery the new case is compared to the thin fit on the 2XL.

First off let me say this is a great case if you don’t like to add bulk to your phone but still want a little protection. I had this same line of case for my Pixel 2 XL and it was what I used most often.

It allows for much easier swiping especially at the top. I purchased another one of these “thin grip” cases and it was like ice in the hand.

I will probably be buying a different case for that reason. If youre just looking for something with some corner and side protection while keeping the phone thin, this fits the bill.
