Didn’t have to spend a ton of money for a great, user-friendly phone with all the bells and whistles. Nice big screen, and takes amazing pictures. It’s a really good phone for the price.

Got it refurbished, and no noticeable signs of prior use. Using it with straight talk, no issues. Updated it to marshmallow.

Battery is internal and non-replacable. Battery doesn’t last as long as advertised but still last as long, if not longer, than most phones. Only issue I’ve had so far is occasionally the camera stops working and I have to reboot.

Googled it and it seems to be a common issue with this phone. Sort of annoying, but not sure there’s much I can do about it.

Power supply and cable that came with it was new knockoff and never worked wouldn’t charge device! After reading about other people having overheating problems with these power supplies, I switched to my own that I use for my old iPad.

Initiated device setup process and tried to do a restore from my old iPad backup and process got stuck on trying to find a backup to restore from iCloud.

Research says that the device is likely still attached to an iCloud account from previous owner. The procedure to ‘disconnect’ from that account never worked, so I switched to doing a restore from iTunes of my latest backup form old iPad.

With some difficulty, I was able to complete that. Had difficulty with only one app that woulnd’t stay opened Daily Notes and kept closing. Performed an update on the app and it appears to be working now.

Touch screen is a bit ‘iffy’ around the edges. I have to keep tapping in different spots to get a response. Otherwise, response to touches is okay.

The ‘edge issue is a bit annoying and that may be the reason I return this device if I can’t work around it. Screen looks brand new.

It may be a third party replacement screen; which could explain the ‘touch’ issues. The thing is super fast. Colors are extra crisp and vivid.

Problems I had with previous Mini 2 – like Safari screens not loading or reloading constantly in some cases – seemed to have been resolved.

The Mini 4 fits the same cover as my Mini 2 was using it’s a Targus, silicone cover and may be just a tad tighter, but close enough!

The Axon 7 lasted for 6 hours 9 minutes and 30 seconds while the OnePlus 3 lasted for 5 hours 22 minutes and 0 seconds. Despite the higher charge rate, you can expect the near exact same amount of usage time.

While I do like that Dash charging maintains heat in the actual charger rather than the phone, I personally prefer Quick Charge 3.

For cameras, both phones appear to offer pretty good looking cameras on paper, each with optical image stabilization and phase detection autofocus.

For this comparison, I took about fifty different images with each phone at the same distance and angle in order to compare how each camera performs.

It should go without saying that neither camera provides Galaxy S7 -level results, but both are still capable of producing nice looking images.

Both cameras produced some disappointingly washed out images. As you may have expected, neither of these cameras do well in low-light conditions.

Both produce soft and noisy images with subpar color reproduction.

However, the OnePlus 3 does a much better job at distributing light across the image, allowing for oftentimes sharper and more detailed images.

Overall, each camera has a great number of strengths and weaknesses. Generally speaking, however, the Axon 7 does better in good lighting and during video, while the OnePlus 3 offers slightly less disappointing low-light images.

The Axon 7’s camera app offers a bit more in pure functionality. Both phones are running Android 6. Whereas OnePlus conforms fairly closely to stock Android while still adding a few useful features and settings, ZTE takes a more interventionist approach with a good number of UI tweaks and unique features.

ZTE appears to offer much better after-sales support than OnePlus, which has had notoriously lousy customer service.

In theory, you would have a better experience dealing with ZTE than OnePlus, especially if you need to replace your phone.

All things considered, both the OnePlus 3 and ZTE Axon 7 deliver excellent smartphone experiences at very affordable prices. Hopefully that helps you decide which of these two affordable flagships you should buy.
